We are a non-profit organization dedicated to pursuing and preserving the values, lessons and hopes of those that are no longer with us.
Every one should have a friend like my best and dearest friend. Charming, intelligent, explosive, creative, vibrant, sparkly, resourceful and so funny it hurts...that is only a smidgen of who she is.
She loved the sound of rivers roaring and cascading toward the sea then returning as quiet showers on pastures and snowflakes in the forest.
We have a favorite thrift store that sells books for 10 cents and have spent many, many dimes there. She loves Keats, Yates and Frost. She has a remarkable memory, a soft spot for dogs and most especially for puppies, which she could make even them laugh with her antics.
She understands me and loves me in spite of myself. We have gone on many "expotitions", as Pooh would say, and she has helped me see the magic in this world. She is a vegetarian and has a strong belief in the concept of paying it forward.
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease took her from us on November 17, 2007. Thanks to the love and devotion of her parents, sister and family she passed at home quietly in her sleep.
Raising awareness is the only way I can reconcile with the fact she will no longer be on this earth with us.
We just knew we would be the two elderly ladies sharing an oxygen tank with a squeaky wheel. She recently turned 40 and I have just barely tripped over the line myself.
Will you please take a moment and look over our site? You can never imagine how much we appreciate it.
We held our first annual fund raising bicycle ride on October 13 and 14, 2007 that looped through the back roads of North Carolina into Northern Greenville, South Carolina. It was an amazingly beautiful ride and great success. Please click here for more information.
Along the way we rode through the ONLY standing Covered Bridge left in the state of South Carolina.
We are also planning a paddling event on Lake Jocassee for the spring.
We are in a unique logistic position to organize several events that will include Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
This disease is little known and has no boundaries. We will be vigilant in our pursuit of raising awareness.
